We are deeply saddened by the news of the death of His Royal Highness, The Duke of Edinburgh. On behalf of Beaworthy Parish Council, our thoughts and sympathies are with the Royal Family at this time.
Residents can pay their respects via the palace online condolence book found at www.royal.uk If you do not have a computer or smartphone, or someone who can help you complete the online condolence book, you can call WDBC and leave a message at 01803 861100.
Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 there will be no physical condolence book available at this time. There will be space at St Albans Church to leave flowers but if residents would like to show their respects to the Duke, and would like to donate to one of the Duke’s charities instead. The Church of England has opened an online book of condolence at www.churchofengland.org.
St Albans Church will be open for private prayer and remembrance from 10am to 8pm daily up to and including the day of Prince Philip’s funeral on 17th April. There will be a service of commemoration somewhere in the benefice on 16th April and is to be confirmed.
An evensong service at Beaworthy on Sunday 11th April will include prayers of remembrance.
